Adoption is a wonderful thing for children who can’t live with their family anymore due to severe circumstances. Adoption gives a child a new opportunity to have a fresh new start in life. Adoption may be the only way for these children to experience a real family.
There are some important factors to be considered when adopting a child. These factors may come from the child or the people who wants to adopt the child. Age is the most important factor to be considered to determine whether the people who want to adopt the child is suitable to adopt. The age must be related to the age of the child, the energy, fitness, health, and the emotional well-being of the child. The issue that must be put to consideration is whether or not the adopters can provide for the daily needs of the child. A child must be under the age of 18 so that he or she can be suitable for adoption. It must also be impossible for the child to return home to his or her real parents to make the child suitable for adoption. If the child is already married, then he or she can’t be adopted anymore even though he or she is still below 18.
A legal right is very important in adopting. This is when the real family of the child will give the parental right to the adopters. This means the child is in the responsibility of the family of the adopters. This is the legal ties between the real family and the family who will adopt the child. The legal rights gives all the responsibility to the adopters which means the real parents is absolve of all the responsibility towards the child and the real family can’t take the child back anymore. The child is now a full member of the adopter’s family with the legal rights. The child will get the surname of the adopted family and all the birth rights including the inheritance.
There are a lot of organizations out there that are approved by the Department of Health where you can adopt a child. These organizations are called adoption agencies. These are usually social services or local councils. There may also be voluntary organizations where you can adopt a child. When it is impossible for the child to stay with his or her parents anymore, the child will have to stay in these adoption agencies. The adoption agencies will serve as parents of the child until the child is adopted. It will take around 8 months for these adoption agencies to determine whether or not you are qualified to adopt a child.
